Lush Haul

on
Friday 28 August 2015

Hey everyone!

It's that time of year where Lush becomes extra popular, the Autumn and Winter months are fast approaching and everyone wants a lovely, colourful, warm, bubbly bath!
Lush is the go-to place!
They have a large selection of all things body and bath, in Autumn and Winter especially Lush bring out all sorts of new products.

But this Summer Lush came out with exclusive products and they've gradually been coming round to all stores around the country, luckily enough when I went to my local Lush store in Canterbury they had the bath bomb I was eagerly wanting...Frozen!
So from wanting one bath bomb I came out with a few extra's...So I thought a Lush Haul was in order.

Frozen: It's a very blue bomb, it's a light blue and a bright blue coloured one. It also has sparkles which completely topped it off for me! According to the Lush website inside the bomb releases "Snowdrifts of silver lustre", I'm very excited to see how my bath turns out!

Ickle Baby Bot: This was my first ever Lush bath bomb purchase quite a few years ago and I still love it. A cute little blue bomb, that is calming and soothing, with lavender in it.

Creamy Candy: This is a bubble bar, one where you crumble it into the water and lots of lovely scents and bubble arise. Creamy Candy smells like Snow Fairy, the Christmas cult classic, so that sold me and it has a pretty little flower.

Butterball: I have lots of good things about Butterball because it's supposedly really good for the skin, and it's a complete calming one, helps depression and anxiety.

Sakura: This bath bomb has lots of floral scents and oils inside, it's inspired by Japanese Spring time, and it's colour scheme is white, pink and turquoise.

Think Pink: A pretty little pink bomb, that smells delicious and has three pretty flowers on it, full of goodness for the skin.

Twilight: This bath bomb is so pretty, lilac coloured with the moon and stars outside and turning the water deep purple. Smelling beautiful of lavender, the perfect bath bomb for a bedtime bath, ready to help you get to sleep.

I hope you enjoyed this haul!

Acne Skincare Routine

on
Thursday 2 July 2015

Hello everyone! :)

My last post was all about my acne story, I thought a good follow up post would be my acne skincare routine.

So many products can trigger acne, so speaking to my doctor he actually recommended me dermatologist choices of skin products, he gave me three brands: Simple Skincare, Clinique and E45.

I will start off with my medicated cream prescribed by my doctor: I won't lie, it's not the nicest thing, it does burn and dry my skin out, but if it means clear skin then I persevere. I apply this every other night.

In the morning I'll either wash my face with a Simple face wipe or wash it with Simple soap.
In the evening I'll more than likely have make up on, so to start of with I use Vaseline to take my eye make up off, then I go on to use Simple's cleansing lotion for my face make up, followed by St Ives Sensitive Skin Face Scrub, then as a final wash I use the Simple soap again, to make fully sure I have got all my make up off, so it doesn't remain in my pores, which will cause more acne.
Taking make up off before you go to sleep is so important.

I use E45 cream whenever my skin is feeling a bit dry, it is always a no win situation, because the acne cream will make my skin dry, so I apply moisturiser, and then the moisturiser causes spots because of the grease, but it's all about trying and seeing what works.

I have tried this for about, 2 months now and it really has helped, I do also think drinking lots of water helps.

I hope this helps even one person, or gives anyone with acne some tips.

My Acne Story | Tips and Advice

on
Saturday 23 May 2015
Acne is something so many people struggle with, it can be caused by many reasons, I'll list a few here: Puberty, family history, non-comedogenic cosmetic products, smoking... These are just a few reasons of what triggers acne. Quite a lot of the time it cannot be helped, it'll just happen, especially if it's due to puberty, once you have acne it is a struggle to get rid of it. Sometimes just changing your skincare routine can clear it up (secretly wishes it was that easy for myself), but sometimes it's not that easy, medical help is sometimes needed.

5 years ago I was 14, during the early middle stages of puberty, I started to gain lots of bumps on my forehead and chin (would insert pictures, but I never kept many, during this time as I was very insecure about it). I decided to go to the doctors,  just to check if it was acne, because it didn't look like the average "stereotypical look", so it made me quite curious. Turns out it was acne, it was just acne laying under my skin, it hadn't broken my skin out, it was just building up. So I was lucky in the respect it hadn't broken out and I'd caught it in time, but still, it's acne, I didn't have flawless skin and I was extremely insecure about it.
Over the next few months I went to my doctor quite a few times, I tried many different methods, we figured out my acne was due to puberty my estrogen levels kept going either very high or very low, so it was effecting my whole body. After trying different methods I ended up on two types of cream and over the past 5 years I only used them every now and then when I had a flare up of acne.

I've recently had my acne return in my latter part of puberty, so I've become even more insecure lately, I took a very quick trip back to the doctors and got put on some very strong cream and I'm currently trying to get my skin back in better condition.

My advice is to make sure to check with a doctor, because there is so many ways to control and help acne, I won't lie, the ways to help acne is never pleasant, but it is worth it.

I'm thinking of doing more acne posts, my skincare routine, make up looks, products...Even just to help one person, so if you're interested let me know :)

BRIGHTON TRIP! January 2015

on
Monday 26 January 2015

My best friend goes to Brighton University, so she done a big move down the country. Which obviously means I miss her very much. So my boyfriend and I decided to take a extra long weekend away to visit her.

We visited to pier, which was freezing cold, but it was fun taking a walk and looking at all the stalls on there. Sea Life was absolutely brilliant, I'd always wanted to go to an aquarium, so I was in my element. I got to see all the Nemo's (clown fish, but I prefer to call them Nemo's)

Me being the biggest shopper-holic we done a lot of shopping. We went down the lanes, to the Churchill Square shopping centre and the main high streets.
In the lanes there is a MAC store, which has to be a favourite shop of mine. They were doing mini sized things for £10, so I picked up a Fix+, I also got a palette eyeshadow in 'Ground Brown' this shade is only for palettes, so unfortunately you can get a pot, but I'm excited to add it to my palette. ...I was walking around Debenhams and I saw an Urban Decay counter, I was so excited, but decided I didn't need anything.
The next day I went back and had a look, cam to the very quick decision I wanted the Naked Basics Palette, so I purchased that, I am still glad I got it.

I had a wonderful trip and I hope you enjoyed my Brighton photos.

Where do you recommend we visit next?
